BUILT OUT OF NECESSITY.
CATCHING HONEY began as a way to meet new people IRL.
The antithesis of the dating apps.
No algorithm.
No hiding behind a screen.
Just IRL connections.
Somewhere along the way, dating became an activity we do from our couches.
We swipe. We match. We send a few messages. We overthink what to say. We send screenshots to the group chat. We make plans that may or may not ever happen.
And at some point we thought...
can we all just go outside and meet each other again?
So, we started CATCHING HONEY :: a singles social club built around a very simple idea: meeting people in real life should be easier.

There's no substitute for standing in front of someone.
Hearing their voice.
Watching how they interact with the world around them.
But, we needed somewhere to go where people wanted to meet new people.
So we made one.
THEN WE MADE SIXTY-TWO MORE
63 events in 565 days. 11,589 applications. 4,227 people through the door.
Just the two of us.
We throw the kind of events we'd actually want to go to ourselves.
Party buses to wine country. Boat cruises. Workout classes. Backyard concerts.
A black-tie birthday. A private suite at Petco Park.
We built the nights we wanted to go to.
Turns out a few thousand other people wanted to go to them too. Fun enough that even if you don't meet the love of your life... you still had a really good night.
THE "AH-HAH" MOMENT
We threw some lavish events, and yet the one everybody always talked about was our casual bingo nights.
Not real bingo. Ours. Each 'FIND A HONEY WHO...' square had a different prompt and the only way to fill your card was to walk up to a stranger and ask them.
We watched the whole room change. Nobody hovering by the bar. Nobody waiting for someone braver to go first. People had a reason to cross the room — and enjoyed doing it. Conversations could stay topical if you weren't interested in the person or trail off into a 30 minute mini date yapping away with one another.
Turns out the hard part was never the room. It was the first thirty seconds.
It was having a specific reason to go up to someone, in the name of playing the game.
SO WE BOTTLED IT
THE HONEY HUNT.
Same idea. But anywhere you are.
The thing that we worked on with 4,227 honeys, in a box you can throw in your bag.
Because we can't be at your best friend's wedding, where half the room doesn't know the other half. We can't be at your work party. We can't be at your favorite bar on a Friday night.
BUT the cards can.
Let's go HONEY HUNTING.
