It all started with a filthy martini at George's rooftop bar in La Jolla.
The kind of night where there truly were no plans past "let's grab one drink and see what happens."
We ended up with a lot more than one drink.
After awing over the sunset, we pulled out THE HONEY HUNT. We were sifting through for our favorite card to hand over to the bartender and that's when Dr. Penis chimed in, "What is that?!".
We explained what the cards were and gave the origin story in detail, as this was the first time THE HONEY HUNT prototype was out in the wild.
We then pulled the 7 of hearts which prompted career conversation" "If $$$ was no object, what would your job be?".
Following the natural line of questioning, we found out that he was a penis doctor, which, is not a sentence you hear at a rooftop bar every day. Naturally, we had questions. A lot of questions. He had answers for all of them, and we had the most interesting conversation before we had to bolt to meet our friends at Gata Wine Bar.
We exchanged numbers and went our separate ways.

We then decided to eat dinner at Le Coq and Dr. Penis decided to come along for the ride, which at that point felt less like an invite and more like an inevitability.
Dinner was steak, mashed potatoes, and a vinyl set playing in the background — the kind of low-key perfect that you can't really plan for, only stumble into. Sometime between the Wu-tang Clan and Dr. DRE, Zham quietly put his Amex Platinum down on the table.
That was that. No big speech, no "let me get this." Just a card on the table and a night that started with a stranger's curiosity about a card game and ended with a free steak dinner and a doctor's number in Layne's phone labeled [PENIS SURGEON].
We didn't go out expecting anything. We just had the cards out, && someone got curious.
You never know where the HONEY HUNT will take you.
